Community Support Worker
Bev joined Dorset Blind Association after working in the NHS for 12 years at a busy doctor’s surgery. She started off as a receptionist but then went on to train as a phlebotomist and then became a Healthcare Assistant. She is a real people person with a passion for helping others. Working for Dorset Blind Association has given her the opportunity to learn something new but to continue keep her keen interest in human welfare.
Bev feels that her role as a community support worker is great. It means she out in the community meeting new clients and helping to support them. She feels that it is a very rewarding role.
At home, Bev enjoys the simple things in life. She enjoys spending time with her family and friends very much. She likes the fresh air and going for walks but she can quite easily be found curled up watching a movie with her cat and a bar of chocolate.
