If you want to get involved in fundraising but fancy doing it your own way, you may like to hold an event in aid of Dorset Blind Association. This is a lovely way to raise some much-needed money for a fantastic cause and spread the word about how we support blind and partially sighted people to lead happy lives.
You might just spread a little happiness too!
It doesn’t have to be anything flashy – it could just be a nice reason to get your friends together.
Some event ideas you could try:
- Invite your friends round for a ‘Come Dine With Me’ type evening
- Host a cake sale or coffee morning – tried and trusted
- Hold a garden party
- Organise a ‘mufti day’ at your school or place of work
Or maybe you’re a bit more adventurous and would prefer to try something bigger or more wacky? Our experienced fundraising team can advise and may be able to help, so please get in touch.
We call people who regularly hold fundraising events for us, our ‘Champions’.
“We loved the experience of hosting our own event at a local restaurant, it was hard work but it certainly paid off when everybody had a lovely time and we raised over £3,000 for Dorset Blind Association. They supported us with administration and tickets, which made things easier. We will be doing it again next year!” – Peter and Rita, Shaftesbury.
