Charity Shop Volunteer

Volunteer in one of our two charity shops, in Ferndown or Christchurch and make a difference to the lives of blind and partially sighted people in your community. Just giving a few hours a week can make a huge difference to our charity.

Our charity shops have become a hub in the community, they are great place to have fun, learn new skills and make new friends. For our shop volunteers, everyday is different as there are a huge variety of work that needs doing, from steaming, sorting, pricing to shop and till work, chatting to customers and making the feel welcome.
CEO Jonathan Holyhead at Dorset Blind Association shop, Ferndown. Our charity shops also double as mini equipment and advice resource centre, to help to make this important service even more accessible to the public.

We also offer the opportunity for visually impaired people to volunteer in our shops, to gain useful skills and experience.

Both shops are open 9.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Saturday (except Bank Holidays).
