What does a 90-year old blind man get up to on a Saturday afternoon? Take three guesses, and we bet this wasn’t one of them…!
Sight loss shouldn’t have to mean missing out, and the sky’s the limit (excuse the pun!)
We know that a varied and active life is essential for happiness, and that’s what we’re all about, so we organise some extraordinary activities to try, whatever your level of sight. You may even discover or re-ignite a talent, as our cricket coach Steve did!
There’s more to sports and activities than keeping fit. People often tell us that they felt like life was over when they lost their sight. We work with people to overcome that, restore their confidence and independence, and get back into LIVING life again.
Join one of our regular clubs including; book club, indoor bowls, acoustic shooting (yes, that’s right: ACOUSTIC SHOOTING) and arts and crafts.
We also organise driving, sailing, water-skiing, kayaking, and activity weekends.
“DBA gives me the opportunity to try things I’ve not tried before, so I just think ‘go for it!”- Jean
If there’s something that you miss or want to try, just ask and we’ll see what we can do. Our friendly team love a challenge, especially if it’s something that will bring a smile to the faces of our VIPs (Visually Impaired People)!
